HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (April 6, 2021) – Hill Technical Solutions (HTS) will host its first charity golf tournament on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Cherokee Ridge Country Club, with proceeds benefiting The CornerStone Initiative, a Huntsville non-profit. The HTS golf tournament will be a four-person scramble, with onsite registration starting at 7:30 a.m. on May 21 and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Cherokee Ridge Country Club is located at 4000 Cherokee Ridge Drive, Union Grove, Ala.
The benefiting charity, The CornerStone Initiative, is a 501(c)(3) Christian community development organization founded in 2011 for the purpose of helping low-income families move from chronic dependency to the dignity of self-sufficiency.
Glenn Turner, HTS CEO, said the company plans to hold the charity golf tournament annually and will select a benefiting charity each year. “The CornerStone Initiative is such a deserving organization,” he said. “We are honored to host this event to raise money for CornerStone programs like Jobs for Life training, which provides unemployed and under-employed people with a community where they get career assessments and learn resume writing, interviewing skills, soft skills, etc., to set them up for job success. Each student is paired with a trained volunteer called a ‘champion’ who attends every class with the students and cheers them on toward personal growth.”
